This Weekend at St. John’s

Saturday is a very busy day at St. John’s. There is the monthly Vestry meeting beginning at 6:57. We plan to be done with most of our ‘routine’ work by 8 am when Mr. Arthur Vincent is coming to describe the scope of work and answer questions regarding the rehab of the bell tower and the roofing of the steeple. He has proposed cladding the steeple with copper which the Diocese is supporting. Mr. Vincent is one of the contractors who have provided us with a bid and a team from St. John’s has visited several job sites. Interested members of the parish are invited to come and learn more—8 am in the Parish Hall.

At 2 pm the 150th Anniversary Committee and the St. John’s ECW (Episcopal Church Women) are offering an English style high tea in honor of Mothers’ Day. Tickets will be available at the door for $7. The tea will conclude at 4 pm.

Sunday is Mothers’ Day and we will be honoring our mothers with special prayers. Sunday is also the Feast of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, and we will celebrate with special music and a special coffee hour after the 10:45 am Choral Service.

Don’t forget the Cornwall Garden Club’s annual plant sale. See the Local for details.

See you all on Sunday.
